Cookie policy

A. COOKIES

When you visit our website, we collect certain information by automated means, using cookies. We may also use other technologies such as pixel tags, browser analysis tools, server logs and web beacons for similar purposes as described in this policy and we may include them on our sites, in marketing e-mail messages or our newsletter, affiliated websites etc., to determine whether messages have been opened and links clicked on.

I. DEFINITION

Cookies are small text files that are stored by our website in the browser of your device. Some of these cookies are deleted again after you close your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device (persistent cookies) and enable your device to be recognised the next time you visit our website.

II. CATEGORIES

We have divided the cookies we use on our website into the following categories:

  1. NECESSARY COOKIES
Necessary cookies are all cookies that are required for the technical functionality of the website. For online shops, this also includes shopping basket cookies or cookies for language selection.

  2. STATISTICS COOKIES
Statistics cookies help to understand how visitors interact with the site by collecting information anonymously and sending it to analysis programmes.

  3. FUNCTIONAL COOKIES
We have a legitimate interest in the use of functional cookies in order to provide you with convenient access to our website and to make it more user-friendly (Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR). User settings (e.g. volume, subtitles, display size) and log-in information are stored and transmitted in these cookies.

  4. FLASH COOKIES
The Flash cookie saves your settings (e.g. volume) when you use the Flash video player and saves them as default settings for your next visit. Even if you have specified in your browser settings that no cookies are to be saved, you may be asked whether the Flash Player may save information. The reason for this is that these are not HTTP cookies. They are only used by Flash applications and have nothing to do with any other internet access protection or security settings you may have set in your browser.

Information on how to control Flash cookies on your computer can be found on the Adobe website. You can recognise, prevent and delete Flash cookies. Firefox users can also get an add-on to control their Flash cookies, e.g. BetterPrivacy.

III. USE OF THE COOKIES

We use cookies to personalise content and advertisements, to offer social media functions and to analyse traffic on our website. We also share information about your use of our website with our social media, advertising and analytics partners. Our partners may combine this information with other data that you have provided to them or that they have collected as part of your use of the services.

This site uses different categories of cookies (see under 2.). Some cookies are set by third parties that appear on our pages.

IV. CONSENT

The General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter: GDPR) requires that users must give their consent to the use of cookies before they can be used. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.

You can therefore change or revoke your consent at any time via the cookie declaration on our website.

Irrespective of your consent, you can also generally configure your browser so that you are informed about the use of cookies, the use of cookies is excluded for certain cases or in general, or so that you only allow the use of cookies in individual cases.

You can also delete stored cookies in your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may limit the functionality of the website.

Find out more about who we are, how you can contact us and how we process personal data in our privacy policy.

B. CONSENT MANAGER COOKIEBOT

II. DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT (DPA)

We use Cookiebot to collect user data and pass this on to the external provider Cybot for processing in accordance with our instructions. In fulfilment of the legal requirements, we are obligated under Art. 28 GDPR to conclude an agreement for data processing (hereinafter "DPA") with the provider Cybot.

The agreement specifies

  • which customer data Cookiebot stores and for how long,
  • why and how Cookiebot processes this data and
  • what rights and obligations the data controllers have.

If we do not fulfil these obligations, we may be fined in accordance with Art. 83 para. 4 lit. a. GDPR. Below you can find the DPA with Cookiebot: DPA_01_2023_without signature_v6.docx (cookiebot.com)
